Hola chicos y chicas!! Esta semana os traemos una entrevista que hemos realizado a Lady E Jewels, esta chica de Salamanca fabrica sus propias joyitas retro y vintage y pudimos conocerla en el Mercadillo del Bar Tiki Kona Lei y le encantó la idea de realizarle una entrevista así que aquí la tenemos! ;)
1. Haznos una breve presentación de tus joyitas.
Lady E son joyas inspiradas en los 50s y 40s. Algunas son reproduciones ( como el collar de cerezas ) y otras se inspiran y otras utilizan auténticas piezas vintage.
2. ¿Cómo surgió esta idea?
Siempre me ha gustado todo lo retro; Al principio empiezas por la música y luego te vas fijando en la estética ( ropa, maquillaje, peinados, complementos...). Pues empecé a investigar y descubrí joyas que me maravillaron pero poco asequibles así que empecé a buscar la manera de hacer mis propios complementos sin dejarme un dineral. Como A la gente le gustaba me animé a hacer cosas para los demás y en ello estamos!
3. ¿En qué y en quién te inspiras a la hora de hacer estas creaciones?
Sobre todo en la moda de décadas 40 y 50, algún libro sobre joyería y mucho internet que pone a nuestro alcance un montón de conocimientos. Gracias a ello he conocido los brazaletes de baquelita que me fascinan y a diseñadoras de joyas como Martha Sleeper, Lea Stein, Miriam Haskell, etc...
4. Cómo realizas los accesorios? Hay alguna pieza que sea tu favorita?
Algunas piezas las consigo de restos de stock, otras como las cadenas son piezas nuevas, las flores hawaianas están hechas con fimo, y ultimamente hago muchas piezas con resina que es un proceso que me resulta muy divertido.
Si tengo que escoger una pieza favorita me quedaría con el broche lágrima ( me encanta coleccionar broches, desde pequeña he visto a mi madre utilizarlos ).
5. ¿Se pueden personalizar?
Muchas cosas si que son personalizables y estoy abierta a sugerencias, por ejemplo una chica me pidió que le pusiera mas chilis a su collar.
Puedo hacer cosas con un color diferente o convertir un collar en pulsera si alguien lo prefiere.
Todo es hablarlo.
6. ¿Qué precios tienen? ¿Envías fuera de España?
Los precios oscilan entre 3€ y 15€, intento que sea asquible y algunas cosas son vintage lo cual me parece que esta muy bien de precio.
Realizo envíos a todo el mundo, con correo certificado. Y combino el envío sin son varias cositas!
7. Si tuvieras que elegir una década (1940, 1950...) ¿Con cuál te quedarías, con cuál te sientes más identificada?
Esta pregunta es muy difícil, me gustan las dos. Ultimamente me estoy empezando a fijar mucho en los 40s, admiro lo que conseguian estéticamente con pocos medios, las mujeres eran realmente glamurosas.
8. Dinos una película y una canción que te defina
Otra pregunta complicada! No se me da bien escoger jajaja. Una de mis peliculas favoritas es El Mago de Oz, soy una persona muy soñadora y lucho constantemente contra mis miedos y la pelicula es un sueño en el que sus protagonistas se enfrentan a sus miedos...asi que supongo que me define bien.
Y una canción...esto es más complicado aún, me gustan muchos estilos musicales, en mi casa siempre se ha escuchado música pero tengo debilidad por el r&b y el soul, los grupos con coros de chicas. Esos vozarrones, esas melodías...

This week we're more than pleased to announce an interview made to this rather talented girl Lady E, owner of Lady E Jewels, born and raised in Salamanca, this girl makes her own retro inspired jewellery and we had the pleasure to meet her few weeks ago at Kona Lei Bar where a pop up retro market took place.
1. Could you offer to us a little introduction about stock?
Lady E is 40s & 50s inspired jewellery. Some are reproducing the old day looks (such is the cherries necklace) whereas others are just retro inspired and even real vintage pieces.
2. How did this idea came up?
I've always been a retro lover, I first developed an interest in music which was followed by an inclination to old fashioned clothing style, make up, hairdos, accessories...
I decided then to invest my time in doing some research. I found out the world of jewellery, beautiful and very unaffordable, so I had to find the way to make my own without spending a fortune. People seemed to like it so here I am keep trying my best!
3. What's your biggest inspirational source?
Specially 40s and 50s fashion, some jewellery books and lots of Internet research, source of never-failing knowledge. That's how I found out the bakelite bracelets which I love, as well as inspiring jewellers such as Martha Sleeper, Lea Stein, Miriam Haskell, etc…
4. How are your pieces made? Do you have a favourite one?
Some pieces are stock leftovers, others such as chains are brand new pieces, hibiscus are made of FIMO paste... although lately I'm into resin for crafts which is a rather enjoyable process.
If I had to choose a piece to be considered my favourite one that'd be the tear brooch (I'm a brooch collector, I think my mum has a lot to do with my inclination to that).
5. Are they customisable?
Many things are, also I'm up for suggestions. Actually a girl asked me to add up more chillies to her necklace and I did!
I can do different colours and transform a necklace into a bracelet if someone prefers so. It's all about discussing it.
6. What's the price range? Do you ship worldwide?
Prices go from 3€ to 15€, I try to make it as affordable as possible, despite some pieces are vintage, I reckon prices are quite reasonable.
I do ship worldwide and add all the items within an only parcel if bought at once.
7. If you had to choose an era (40s, 50s...) which one would it be? Which one do you feel more identified with?
That's a tough one! I love both. Although lately I'm keeping an eye on the 40s, I admire how glamorous women looked with such few resources.
8. Say a movie and a song which defines you.
Another tough one! I really can't make up my mind! One of my favourites movies is The Wizard of Oz, I'm a dreamer who fights her fears away, just what the movie pictures, a bunch of lovely people fighting against their fears which turned out to just be a dream, so I guess that one defines me quite well.
And a song... That's even tougher! I love a wide variety of music, I was brought up within a musical environment, but my weakness is rhythm and blues as well soul, bands formed with a choir of girls... Those voices and melodies...
