Curvy y Pin Ups

Hello Ladies Hello Gentleman! Bienvenidos a una nueva entrada del blog, agárrense que vienen curvas!!
Hoy la entrada no trata de ropa, mercadillos ni eventos vintage. Hoy quiero hablaros del fenómeno curvy.
De todos es sabido que la belleza está en los ojos del que mira, y que lo que se considera atractivo varía mucho a través de las diferentes culturas y sociedades y también dentro de una misma sociedad a lo largo de la historia. Como prueba este anuncio vintage para ayudarte a GANAR peso. Algo impensable como anuncio en la actualidad. Creo que por eso vuelve con tanta fuerza el fenómeno vintage y somos tantos en apuntarnos, porque promovía una mujer más femenina en vez de la tendencia actual a un cuerpo más andrógino y asexuado. Me parece que una chica puede ser skinny y atractiva igual que puede ser curvy y atractiva. Siempre que sea así de manera natura y que no sea consecuencia de problemas alimenticios provocados por intentar seguir los cánones de belleza a toda costa.
Está claro que la publicidad y la industria viven de crear cánones más y más inalcanzables, su objetivo es crear insatisfacción, porque cuanto más insatisfecha más consumo. Si no le ves ningún problema a tu cuerpo no te vas a gastar un montón de dinero en cremas anticelulíticas, tratamientos adelgazantes, dietas, etc.
Pero mi reflexión es la siguiente, si los canones de belleza cambian tanto, puede que sea precisamente porque no debe haber tal standard de belleza ni tal moda. Siempre que la salud esté bien, dentro de la variedad está el gusto. No hay una única manera de ser atractiva. Y esto no sólo pasa con el peso, también con otros rasgos como el color de la piel. Cuando era niña me quejaba de ser más blanca que la leche y no coger un bonito bronceado dorado en la playa.
Ahora con la madurez he aprendido que se puede ser preciosa siendo de cualquier color, y como ejemplo están mis adoradas Dita Von Teese o Emma Stone.
Por eso hoy quiero presentaros unas páginas de instagram que yo sigo. La primera es la pag effyourbeautystandars creada por Tessmunster icono de belleza curvy, modelo de 120kg y una talla 54 considerada una súper modelo fichada por una de las mejores agencias de modelos de EEUU.
La segunda es la de de Stefania Ferrario, australiana de 21 años, es modelo de lencería de la increíble Dita Von Teese y se define en su IG stefania_model como “lover of all things vintage and lingerie”. Es una chica preciosa si bien está etiquetada como una modelo “plus size” o talla grande, a pesar de que su talla 8 está por debajo de la talla media de las estadounidenses, por lo que ahora protagoniza una campaña que denuncia de esta clase de estereotipos para eliminar estas etiquetas tóxicas de la industria.
Algo va mal si algo que está por debajo de la media se considera grande. Está claro que no es lo que se explica en estadística cuando se ve la distribución de la curva normal (campana de Gauss). Para mí lo único que tiene de “plus” es que me parece “Pluscuamperfecta”. Por tanto fuera los standards de belleza!

Today's post ain't about clothing, markets, nor vintage themed events. Today we are talking about the curvy phenomenon. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There's been throughout the decades a wide variety of beauty standards which have been changing depending on a society's mind already established or each nation's thinking, culture or religion.
Check out this retro ad which advertises a miraculous way to put on weight, bizarre! If we think about such nowadays! And that's why in my opinion this new vintage retro inspired movement has started to be supported by so many women, given it boosted a much more real and feminine type of woman, instead of the unhealthy look which has been helped along by few powerful ones nowadays.
I believe a woman can either be skinny, curvy or fat and still beautiful. Attractiveness happens regardless one's weight.
As long as a woman looks a certain way out of her own nature, not as a consequence of needless eating problems created just to fulfil nowadays' beauty standards.
Advertisement success grows out of our own insecurities, their target is creating an inner in satisfaction. The more unsatisfied, the more consumption. If your body looks just fine and healthy to you (and your doctor) you won't spend a fortune on anti-cellulite creams and diets...
Now, here goes nothing, please understand that if beauty standards are constantly changing, it might be cause such standard doesn't actually exist. As long as health is good our looks ain't as important. Sex appeal is within you, not over you.
But this isn't just a matter of weight, as well our skin tone can make build up a frustration. When I was younger I used to nag about not getting the perfect skin tan. I've learnt along the years that one is beautiful regardless their skin tone, just like Dita Von Teese or Emma Stone.
That's why I want to introduce you to these Instagram profiles I'm following.
First one is effyourbeautystandards created by Tessmunster, curvy beauty icon, 120kg size 54, considered a super model working with one of the best model agencies in the states.
Second one is Stefania Ferrario, 21yo Australian model, modelling for Dita Von Teese lingerie catalogue, as she mentions on her IG profile she's a "lover of all vintage things and lingerie". A beautiful girl tagged as plus size model regardless her size 8 is below American women's size average. So she's launched a campaign to cut down the toxic tags the industry sticks on us women.
